José Torres-Tama is a published poet and playwright and an award-winning performance and visual artist. Aliens, Immigrants & Other Evildoers, his acclaimed one-man play, sold out theaters in Houston, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles and was published as “Aliens” in the anthology Encuentro: New Latinx Performances for the American Theater (Northwestern University Press 2019). From 2006 to 2011, he contributed post-Katrina commentaries for NPR's Latino USA. Poets & Writers Magazine profiled his poetry in April 2021.
