Julie Kane was the Louisiana Poet Laureate from 2011 to 2013. Professor Emeritus of English at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, she has poems appearing in over fifty anthologies including Norton's The Seagull Reader, Penguin's Poetry: A Pocket Anthology, and Best American Poetry 2016. Her most recent book is Paper Bullets, a collection of humorous poems.
