Reggie Scott Young is an associate professor in the department of English at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He has published poems and stories in a number of journals and magazines and has written two novels about young African American poets who live in inner-city communities. Like Abraham Lincoln, he is a native of Kentucky who also migrated to Illinois.
