Louisiana will move to Phase One under the White House COVID-19 guidance this Friday, May 15, which removes the Stay at Home order for Louisianans and allows additional businesses to open under strict occupancy, protection and social distancing guidelines.

Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced he will extend Louisiana’s Stay at Home order until May 15 to continue to slow the spread of COVID-19. Louisiana does not currently meet the White House criteria for entering Phase One of reopening.
Today Gov. John Bel Edwards has postponed Louisiana’s elections, at the request of the Louisiana Secretary of State, because of the COVID-19 outbreak in the state.
The June 20, 2020 Presidential Preference Primary election in Louisiana is rescheduled for July 11, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The July 25, 2020 election is rescheduled for August 15, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
