Nordette Adams is a published poet and published fiction writer who should start submitting her work for publication again, say friends and colleagues. The poet grew up in New Orleans, moved away at 20, and returned in 2007.
During her lifetime, she has worked as a journalist for weekly newspapers in Georgia and New Jersey and as a public relations specialist for a government facility in South Carolina where she ghost-wrote white papers and trade articles for environmental engineers, penned scripts, and produced documentaries. She also has worked at a New Jersey telecommunications company as a technical writer. In addition to writing for corporations, Nordette has written articles for regional magazines, and is currently a contributing editor for BlogHer.com.
Nordette Adams grew up in New Orleans, having her first poem published in the Times Picayune before she was six years old. She's lived in other places, but New Orleans was always on her mind.
